TAUBE FAMILY FOUNDATION AND KORET FOUNDATION LAUNCH TOUCHDOWNS FOR KIDS PROGRAM

Celebrating the 49ers Success on the Field with Charitable Contributions off the Field

There are even more reasons to celebrate the 49ers on-field success in 2011. With each touchdown, field goal, interception or sack this season, much needed funding will be directed toward improving the lives of Bay Area youth through the Touchdowns for Kids Program cosponsored by the Taube Family Foundation and Koret Foundation in partnership with the 49ers Foundation . During each game, every 49er interception and sack earns $500 for underserved youth, and touchdowns bring in $1,000 to $1,500 apiece. The Taube Family Foundation and Koret Foundation www.koretfoundation.org and have committed a total of $100,000 to the program, and hope to raise even more throughout the year.

Funds raised through Touchdowns for Kids will benefit six high-quality Bay Area youth organizations: East Palo Alto Tennis & Tutoring, Eastside College Preparatory School, and the 49ers Academy in East Palo Alto, the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA in San Francisco, Fresh Lifelines for Youth in Milpitas, and the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford.

Tad Taube, Chairman of Taube Philanthropies, President of the Koret Foundation and former Principal Owner of the Oakland Invaders, with Shana Penn, Executive Director of Taube Philanthropies, announcing the Touchdown for Kids Program.

"The San Francisco 49ers have served not only as a most important institution in representing excellence on the American sports venue; the 49ers have also provided positive role models for youngsters throughout the Bay Area -- and indeed beyond," said Tad Taube, Chairman of Taube Family Foundation and President of the Koret Foundation. "The Taube Family Foundation and Koret Foundation have been longstanding supporters of youth organizations. Hence, we are gratified and proud that we can join with the York family and the 49ers organization to partner in a program that will enhance our mutual commitment and improve the life, safety, and educational opportunities for the children of the communities we serve."

49ers Owner and Co-Chair John York added, "Through this creative partnership, we are excited to align the core values of the 49ers Foundation, to 'Keep Kids Safe, On Track and In School,' with two truly remarkable philanthropic organizations. Their generous charitable contribution to six very special beneficiaries is very commendable and we are honored to be part of this impactful program."
