Tad Taube, Chairman of Taube Philanthropies, President of the Koret Foundation, and Board Member of the Commonwealth Club of California, spoke at the June 11th groundbreaking ceremony for the Club's new headquarters at 110 The Embarcadero.
Taube Philanthropies, together with the Koret Foundation, is the largest donor to the Club's building campaign (at $3.6 million). Taube was joined by Jeffrey Farber, CEO of the Koret Foundation. Also in attendance were San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee; Former U.S. Secretary of State, the Honorable George Shultz; and members of the Club's Board of Governors and donors to its building campaign, including William K. Bowes of the William K. Bowes, Jr. Foundation; Anna Mok, managing partner at Deloitte; John Farmer, retired general partner at Goldman Sachs; Maryles Casto, founder and CEO of Casto, The Travel Company; and Jed York, president and CEO of the San Francisco 49ers. The Club anticipates opening its doors in mid-2015.
